Recently I had the privilege of speaking at a Virtual Roundtable hosted by

Sarah Jones

at

Shortlist Recruitment Limited.

The topic I introduced and we discussed was the routes for young people into the tech industry, with a key focus on Power Platform.

Some of my key takeaways were:

Power Platform isn’t yet something that can be learn’t in the classroom for younger students in their school day, but due to curriculum limitations.

Power Platform could be a fantastic area for young people to enter through after school clubs as a learning environment, however this would be based on external specialists coaching students on the topics as current academic instructors most likely wouldn’t have studied topics around Microsoft Business Applications in their learning.

Just because a solution looks ‘simple’, this doesn’t deter from it being a great or suitable solution. Solutions are intended to solve problems, and where a simple solution does that, it could be something so much better than something more advanced and harder to get to grips with for basic end users.
