In this post, I’d like to pause to best think about and share how I engage and learn how to develop and utilise Microsoft 365 and Power Platform. I will share the method I use to

study towards the App Maker Power Platform exam , as well as some additional methods I use for the odd skill and the available tools for you to use.

Power Platform Learn

The method I have been using to learn Power Platform the most, and more recently is a fantastic online course created by Rory Neary (MVP), called Power Fx Canvas Apps Zero to Hero.

The Power Fx Canvas Apps Zero to Hero course guides you through everything you need to know to be successful for the Power Apps part of the PL-100 exam, from how to get a Power Apps licence for the first time to introduction of ALM in your applications, AI and getting involved in the Power Platform community.

With over 300 lessons and 42 hours of content, fantastic reviews from Microsoft Most Valued Professionals, and the ability for own pace learning, I found this to be the best way to progress with my learning of Power Platform.

Online Community

The online Power Platform community, is a fantastic place to get help when you’re stuck on something you’re trying to do with any area of the Power Platform stack. Whether it be Power Apps, Power Automate, some analysis in Power Bi, or Power Virtual Agents, there is an online forum for queries you wish to pose.

You can read more about and find the Power Platform community and user groups here

Aside from just forum spaces for Q and A type learning, there are also a fantastic group of online saviours who publish content around Power Platform regularly. Power Platform blogs are an excellent place to learn quick parts of the Power Platform or to get answers to specific things you want to learn. MVP owned blogs provide the best support, with the highest expertise in Power Platform and Microsoft Business Applications.

A few, of many many more, Power Platform Bloggers with MVP or MCT status include,

Rory Neary

,

Pieter Veenstra

, and

April Dunnam

Microsoft Learn

Microsoft Learn is a brilliant tool for you to get started with Power Platform. Providing learning paths, and the exact modules needed for the Microsoft certification exams, Microsoft Learn is definitely something you should check out if you intend to get Microsoft certified.

Prior to taking my PL-900 exam, a quick look over the content in the Power Platform Fundamentals learning path gave me a really close idea as to what would be included partly assisted me in passing this exam. Comprised of 12 modules, the Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals learning path is another great place to get started on getting to grips with Power Platform.
